  2. Share 1 way you plan to utilize VoiceThread in your work.

    Adobe Connect 9.3 has just been released. We will demonstrate how a few new features such as:
    • Play pre-recorded video  during a synch session
    • Screen sharing enhancements - live during a synch session
    • New white board
    In addition we will talk together about
    • why you might use or avoid such features in higher education synchronous online sessions
    • what kinds of  desirable courses, activities, goals, principles could this feature support.
    • why, especially, should someone  who is just beginning to teach online learn how to use this?

     Cognitive Science Book Discussion Series
    The focus of this series is to assist in applying cognitive science & brain research to teaching/learning principles, strategies, practices.
    Three different books will be discussed.  The 1st is a general audience, non-fiction selection, the 2nd is a scholarly selection and the 3rd is fiction.

    We encourage you to access the book and read it prior to the session. Of course, you can always join the conversation and later read the book. The dates and registration information are below:

(It's a novel, but it deals (colorfully and rivetingly) with the clash between so-called Old Knowledge (books) and New Knowledge (internet and other virtual forms of communication). Not only that, it's a great read--funny, swashbuckling, and serious by turns.)
